The 5th Australian Ironmaking Materials Symposium was held as a virtual event over two days in November. Up to 45 participants attended the symposium, to watch and discuss 21 technical presentations.

The participants this year included BHP, BlueScope Steel, Liberty Primary Steel, CSIRO, and the Universities of Newcastle, Wollongong, Queensland, New South Wales, Swinburne University of Technology and the Australian National University. The symposium featured sessions on sintering fundamentals, blast furnace modelling, hydrogen ironmaking, and updates from industry.
