Associate Professor Honeyands from the ARC Iron Ore Hub attended the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering at ANSTO’s Lucas Heights reactor this Month. Researchers from the Hub were awarded four days of time on the DINGO neutron tomography beamline to scan a range of fused iron ore softening and melting samples. Data from these experiments is key to unlocking the structural transformation that occurs in Australian lump iron ores during blast furnace ironmaking.
